Many people see savings as a constraint. I see it as a game So I will share today my 9 secrets to save money without thinking too much!
1. I lower my bills to the maximum
Well, why pay a lot when you can go to the competitor, cheaper and just as effective? That’s what I do! Here are 3:
Hello, bank! : 80 € free, free Visa Gold card, almost no fees
Eni: 10% cheaper than EDF and you can go home in 5 minutes, without a power outage, of course To save money without doing anything, I recommend them, they are top!
Internet / TV / Telephone: 15 $ / month at Red by SFR
I do not have a car (see below), but I also advise you to revise your insurance! Direct Insurance is a little online banking insurer: effective and cheap!
2. I cook (simple things)
As I mentioned this article and in this one, eating ready meals is expensive (is not good for your health).
So to save mountains of money, do like your great-grandmother:
Cook a little, mess!
“Yes, but I cook like a pine!”
Sorry for the questionable rhyme but it was too tempting
You do not have to be Joel Robuchon to make rice with tomato sauce and meat and throw a handful of green beans!
You can also cook sweet potatoes with fresh cream, crush them, add two sausages and tomato and PAF! It’s a homemade dish!
See my ten ideas for fast food at 1 euro, and you’ll tell me the news
One thing I love: buy the fresh food that dies the same night in stores (with big discounts: D) and keeps them in the freezer!
3. I make an automatic monthly transfer
Simple. Basic. And effective
Make an automatic transfer to your savings account, preferably a few days after your salary falls.
In doing so, you do not even think about it anymore. It is no longer a constraint!
Do not aim too high. I advise putting 5 to 10% of your income aside every month. Try to pretend that your save money did not exist. This is the good ways to save money for anyone.
And again: Hello bank! Gives you € 80 if you open an account at home. What are you waiting for to say bye bye to your banker who is sugaring himself by charging you useless fees?
4. I take public transportation
Okay, this tip is not suitable for everyone. At least, that’s what we may tend to say at first!
A car costs around $5,000 a year for an average use of 50 minutes a day
Think about it: do you need to go to work by car? You can perhaps take the bus, or take colleagues by carpool and divide the costs!
The car is a bit like a drug: it takes a quick taste, and it hurts our finances! Better to use public transport, cycling or walking when you can.
I lived in Agen, Toulouse, Bordeaux, and Paris, and I never had a car. I have always refused to pay dearly for polluting and harming everyone. It’s my opinion!
I still have my license 🙂When I really need it, I take a taxi or I rent a car ( between individuals , it’s cheaper!).
5. I never make credit (even 3x without fees)
… except of course if it’s to buy an apartment that repays itself and more if affinities 😛
